About Doug Battista

Doug BattistaA seasoned professional, Doug Battista offers more than 20 years of considerable achievements. Currently, Doug Battista leverages that extensive experience for Jenny Craig’s North America business in the role of President of North America Operations. Doug is responsible for the business operations of 427 company-owned locations, 111 franchise locations, a direct-to-consumer delivery business and an online business. Doug is a member of the management team of Jenny Craig, a private equity backed business.

Before accepting the role of President, Doug served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for Curves Jenny Craig, a Company with 500 company-owned centers and thousands of franchised locations throughout the world with employees based in U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Spain, France, United Kingdom, and China.

Prior to his CHRO role , Doug Battista worked for Jenny Craig’s former owner, Nestle, where he developed the Recruitment and HR Analytics Centers of Expertise. This program currently serves the 17 commercial and functional divisions of Nestle. In his successful career, Doug Battista has also worked in various leadership roles for Aramark Corporation and The Walt Disney Company.

The career of Doug Battista began at Niagara University and continued on to the University of Hartford. After earning his B.S. degree from Niagara University, Doug Battista earned an M.S. in Organizational Behavior at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. In the midst of his college studies, Doug Battista worked in numerous operations management positions for Aramark Corporation and Marriott International. After several years in Operations, Doug was asked by ARAMARK’s management to assume a position in the Company’s HR department as Regional Recruiter for Field Operations.

A native of the Western Pennsylvania, Battista eventually moved to California. In 2000, Doug Battista embarked on a new adventure, going to work for The Walt Disney Company in Burbank, California. There, he supported Disney’s Global Hardlines organization while gaining further experience in his profession.

In 2002, Doug Battista returned to his roots, accepting the role of Director of Human Resources with ARAMARK’s Uniform Service Division. During this five four-year period, Doug Battista was consistently lauded for decreasing employee turnover and boosting retention rates. He also received praise for increasing the number of women and minorities installed in leadership roles.

Moving forward in his professional journey, Doug Battista joined Nestle USA as HR Director in 2006 and was based at the company’s Glendale, California headquarters. At first, Doug Battista served in the Logistics Division, the division responsible for forecasting, supplying and distributing Nestle’s products throughout the country. Doug Battista drew notice from Nestle management by instituting a program in talent assessment and planning. This turned out to be a giant leap forward for Doug Battista, as he was asked to lead the development of the Company’s first HR Analytics department.

Encouraged by his excellent work, Nestle USA elevated Doug Battista to the role of Head of Talent Acquisition in 2008. He led a team of HR professionals in all activities related to branding and talent acquisition. Battista eventually created the Recruitment Center of Expertise, a shared service for the entire Nestle USA organization.

On nights and weekends, Doug Battista enjoys staying fit through exercise and Yoga. An avid baseball fan, he enjoys cheering on his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Doug is also a season ticket holder and fan of the Los Angeles Clippers.
